5 March 2019

We have been advised that milk has been detected in the dark chocolate we are currently using. This means that our product labelling prior to 20th February 2019 is insufficient and requires updating to including Dairy (milk) as an ingredient. This recall has been implemented by a number of chocolate companies throughout New Zealand.

Accordingly, we are working with MPI and have re-labelled all our dark chocolate products from the 20th February 2019.

As milk is an allergen, people with a milk allergy or intolerance should not consume the affected products listed below. If you have any concerns about your health, please seek medical advice.

If you suffer from a milk allergy or intolerance and you still have any of these products, please contact us here at Silky Oak. Either call us on 06 845 0908 or email

This recall does not apply to people who do not have an allergy to milk or intolerance to milk.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
